My Classroom 2007-2008

Take a tour of our classroom!
Our Word Wall is in its beginning stages. The wall begins with the Dolch List words and grow each week as we add our spelling words for the week. The students take turns reading the word wall and pointing to each word as part of our daily morning work. Practice makes perfect!
This is where I teach small groups for reading and math. We also use this area for editing and conferencing about our writing.
Every student in our class has a job, which helps our room run smoothly. We rotate on a weekly basis so that each child has a chance to experience each job. The kids' favorites are line leader, librarian (for the class library), messenger, and teacher's assistant.
This photo was taken at Meet the Teacher Night. Families have the opportunity to meet their child's teacher and take a tour of the new classroom. I am always glad to meet my students face-to-face before the first day of school.
