Kindergarten Scientists!

What is science? What does a scientist do?

I asked the kids and these were some of their answers:
*scientists make volcanos, potions, and weather
*scientists like to be outside
*scientists wear goggle and white coats

I love the way their little minds think!

This week we introduced science and discussed safety rules. We talked about the tools scientists use and played a matching game in our classroom.

One of the most important tools kindergarten scientists use is a science journal. Each scientist received a notebook to record what they learn! We visited the science lab at Galatas to investigate the kinds of tools that are available to use. We named them, touched them, and drew them in our journals.

We look forward to visiting the science lab frequently to do investigations and hands-on labs. The kids are excited and ready to learn!
